Earth Live – Bruce de Torres: The Great Trump Debate, JFK's Legacy & Writing Your Future
Earth Live for Saturday, October 10, 2026, with Keith Temple in Black Sheep Studio, co-host Dr. Brooks Agnew, and author Bruce de Torres.
Author Bruce de Torres, who wrote God, School, 9/11 & JFK, is back on the show for the first time in a couple of years, and the night turns into a spirited but friendly debate. Bruce makes his case that JFK remains the gold standard for presidents and explains why he is skeptical of Trump, while Brooks explains why he sees Trump as the leader of the moment and shares his views on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. Keith asks about 2028 and where the country goes next. The guys also dig into AI and who controls history, the case against modern schooling, colonizing the moon, Jim Marrs, and Brooks's Remembering the Future and the practice of writing down your future.
The great Trump debate
Bruce de Torres has been on Earth Live many times over the years, and this time he and Dr. Brooks Agnew landed on opposite sides of the night's biggest question. Brooks argued that Trump is the leader the moment calls for and that history will record what he has given up to do the job. Bruce said no president since 1963 has measured up, Trump included. Keith asked the question underneath it all: if not Trump, who?
JFK as the gold standard
Bruce explained why he holds up John F. Kennedy as the measure for every president since, and read from his Substack review of The Ugly American, the 1950s novel about American foreign policy.
Iran, the Strait of Hormuz and the road to 2028
Brooks laid out his view of Iran, the IRGC and the Strait of Hormuz, and why he sees the conflict so far as a limited police action rather than a war. Later, Keith asked the panel about 2028 and the likely contenders, including Marco Rubio, JD Vance and Ron DeSantis.
AI, school and who controls history
The panel worried about a generation that learns history from AI and search engines. Bruce made his case against modern schooling and for the old advice to know thyself, and Brooks talked about colonizing the moon as humanity's next frontier.
Remembering the Future
Brooks talked about his book Remembering the Future: The Physics of the Soul and Time Travel, how the show first heard him on Coast to Coast AM in 2005, and his practice of writing down the future you want. The guys also remembered the late author Jim Marrs.
